Charlotte: Reflecting On the First Six Months in the Queen City

Since purchasing our Charlotte Recording Studio, a lot has changed. A lot!! With a noticeable upgrade in sound-quality and an overall expansion in room sizes, we are overjoyed with this new studio. We thought it'd be a good idea to discuss some details about the Charlotte studio and future plans as we continue to grow with our artists.

One search of "Recording Studio in Charlotte, NC" will show you many more options than "Recording Studio in Hagerstown, MD". The competition here is definitely heavier than in Maryland. But we have the added luxury of being not only one of the largest, but one of the most well-built recording studios in Charlotte (possibly the entire east coast). Those details are an incredibly important factor for artists and labels. This studio boasts three control rooms, a small vocal booth, a medium booth, a large live room, a full-sized kitchen, spacious front lobby and extra offices.

We could elaborate on these fantastic recording rooms but the photos here say everything. Instead let's discuss some of the amazing projects we've had the fortune of working on. With a studio at this scale even the clientele has changed in many respects. Our speculation is that the beautiful sounding and beautiful looking live room is to blame for this. Officially labelled as Studio 1, the live room has become the go-to space for drum recording, choir recording, guitar recording, voice-over recording, live-streaming for musical performances and it has even been used simply as a rehearsal space at times. Fun fact: prior to our ownership Studio 1 was used for some serious voice-over projects (among many other music projects) that welcomed A-List actors such as Jennifer Lawrence and Mandy Patinkin (to name just two) for film and television production. With professional soundproofing and acoustical design achieved at the construction of the studio, the sheer quality of our recordings have been completely transformed and it has attracted the attention of artists seeking proper recording. There has been a massive influx in rock and gospel bands coming to the Charlotte recording studio. And, lucky for us, it has even attracted Grammy-winning Producer and Engineer Cedric Thompson. Cedric now works out of Control Room C and has opened us up to a world of some of the most spectacular Gospel music the world has ever seen or heard. Cedric has been a blessing as a team-member and his work speaks for itself. South Carolina native Donte Dowling has joined the team as well. Like Cedric, Donte also shines with R&B and Gospel music production and engineering. It's been great seeing these gospel artists bless the studio. Literally.
